Farewell to Ed Decker
New Conservatory Theatre Center
Dear Friends,
By now, you’ve likely heard the monumental news of NCTC’s leadership transition, and you may be wondering how best to honor Founding Artistic Director Ed Decker’s extraordinary 45 year legacy.
Since founding NCTC in 1981, Ed has boldly shaped the theatre into a nationally recognized home for groundbreaking stories, LGBTQ+ voices, and a vital space for young performers of the future. Today, he is entrusting the artistic direction to Ben Villegas Randle, who brings both a deep history with NCTC and a vibrant vision for what’s ahead.
We understand that leadership transitions are pivotal moments and thanks to thoughtful planning, this one is strong, steady, and filled with promise. To mark this historic milestone, we’ve launched the Thanks a Million Campaign, anchored by the Ed Decker Legacy Fund and invite you to join us in honoring Ed’s extraordinary legacy.
If NCTC, and Ed’s tireless work have affected your life in a meaningful way, please consider making a gift today! We are already at half of our $1 million goal to be reached by August 2026.
Your support ensures that captivating, joyful, and transformative storytelling flourishes at NCTC for generations to come.
Thanks a Million, Ed.
Thanks a Million, NCTC.
Thanks a Million to YOU.
With gratitude,

Barbara Hodgen, Vanessa Ramos,
Executive Director Director of Development
