FALL 2025 WRITING CLASSES

As we continue what’s been a calamitous year, I’m offering an antidote: two FALL 2025 WRITING CLASSES. Whether you’re a published author, a produced playwright or a prodigious writer of love letters and to-do lists, enrolling in one of my writing classes will enhance your world as a writer. What I really do as a writing teacher is gently guide, nurture and encourage the writer within you and steer you towards the juiciest parts of your heart and soul, therefore extracting the most out of you and onto the page. Together we aim to discover and release your unique voice, while staying true to your story and yourself. After several decades of working with dozens upon dozens of beginning and professional writers, my aim is to join you on your path to clearer writing with emotion, creativity, authenticity and intelligence, marrying the art and the craft.
“Michael Kearns creates a safe, nonjudgmental space that allows me to color outside the lines and find my true voice. As a writer and solo performer, he encourages me to be daring and plumb the depths of my emotional reservoir to create work that’s intimate and exciting.” – Dave
MICHAEL KEARNS’ FALL 2025 CLASSES
WRITING: ART & CRAFT
In this intimate class, Kearns will work with students who have yet to study writing with him. The small group will delve into the various elements of creative writing. The aim is to lure your own one-of-a-kind voice to the surface with gentle feedback, guidance and encouragement from both Kearns and fellow students in a safe and supportive environment. Kearns believes “writer’s block” doesn’t exist and that writing is like a muscle that needs to be flexed. And flex you will. Members will share on a weekly basis through in-class writing exercises and by bringing their own pieces to read out loud. By the end of six weeks, expect your writing to be clearer, deeper and ready to launch out into the world.

“Write and Shine got me past every writer’s worst enemy, the fear of reworking every word on a page to reflect the true intention of what we have to say; I wrote a book in this class that people told me for years needed to be written.Every session sharpens us in the practice of putting words together to tell a story, make a point or expose a larger truth.” – Darya
ONE-ON-ONE
Coach Kearns works intensely with you in a private setting. No matter what you’re writing (memoir or solo performance, a novel or a play, a blog or short story), he believes there’s always a way to go deeper in emotionalizing your material while addressing the craft. Interview appointment required.
