Seeking Young Artists for National Queer Theatre’s Staging Pride: Queer Youth Theater

Staging Pride Fall 2025 Applications Open!
Are you a queer or trans artist between the ages of 13-18? Do you know someone who is? Look no further than Staging Pride: Queer Youth Theater!
Staging Pride is National Queer Theater’s free, after-school youth program. In partnership with The Hetrick-Martin Institute, this program brings together young NYC artists to make new friends and explore queer culture through theater. Throughout the program, you will work with expert teaching artists to build new theater skills and to create an original show. Along the way, you’ll go on field trips to Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, take part in masterclasses with professional artists (past guests have included Drag Race’s Marcia Marcia Marcia and Yuhua Hamasaki), and explore the vital role of the artist-activist in the on-going fight for LGBTQ+ rights.
Classes run from 4:30-6:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays, September 17th-December 17th. Dinner and OMNY Cards will be provided at each class. This semester will culminate in a public performance at HERE Arts Center on December 17th.
What are you waiting for? Share this application with young people you know, or, if you’re a young artist, fill it out today and join us!
