1st Place: Bounty (Wrath) written by Amy Martin, Vienna, VA. “In a not-too-distant future America a zealous bounty hunter in the guise of a police officer pulls over a mother and her teenage daughter intent on traveling across the state line. The stop is of questionable legality. The encounter becomes a battle of wills between a true believer and two women determined to assert their rights to privacy and dignity in a world turning against them. The consequences for all three are dire.”
2nd Place: Three-Inch Golden Lotuses (Pride) written by Christopher Wiley, Palm Springs, CA. Caroline is getting married to her semi-gay fiancé Roger. But first she faces Jane who offers her an exclusive all women’s spa in New York City. Can a Greek-like chorus of knitting, towel turban-clad women change Caroline’s prideful mind before her fate is sealed for all eternity?
3rd Place (tie): Mortal Lives (Envy) written by Seth Freeman, Pacific Palisades, CA. In an arcade of games with animated mechanized displays, Cybil, a fortune teller, and Sammy, a swami, are envious of their human customers, of the excitement and drama which seems to enliven the existence of these mortals. But as spirit figures Cybil and Sammy have powers. They realize that they can, if they choose, create spells to make each other mortal and discover, especially, what is so attractive and fascinating with this thing the humans call “love.” High emotion and surprises follow when the two of them leap into the adventure of experiencing mortal lives.
3rd Place (tie): The Tryst (Lust) written by Paul Atreides, Las Vegas, NV. Pat and Chris meet on a regular basis, yet it’s always the same: They enjoy their time together – they are human after all. But the enjoyment is always tinged with a hint of guilt. Yet, after each meeting, they know they’ll keep on with their surreptitious, guilty pleasure.
OUR OTHER CHOSEN “SINS”

Avery’s roommate Quinn says that sloth is a sin, and that all of Avery’s friends and family are worried about this behavior. But Avery finds a brand-new friend – a wondrous embodiment of sin in the form of a three-toed sloth who tells Avery to dive right into slothfulness!
Hot Dog (Gluttony) written by Millie Marx, whereabouts unknown….A mishap during a hot dog eating contest sends a beloved senator to the ICU. His wife and personal assistant wait for updates from his doctor while communicating with the public on Twitter. How serious will the ripple effects from this high-profile act of gluttony be?
