Rude Mechanics
London, January 1612. A theatre in the court of King James. On a night fraught with political and romantic intrigue, a spear-carrier in Shakespeare’s troupe is suddenly thrust into a major role and frantically rehearses for an imminent performance before the Court. A fast, funny, slyly anachronistic, and scarily relevant period comedy about the insanity (and the wonder) of trying to create theatre during a time of plague.
“A fantastic, original, laugh-your-head-off show! … Great fun! I applaud you for courage to create something so original! So much fun, unexpected, relatable. The staging and acting brimmed with energy and excitement. Terrific costumes and props. Thank you so much!” Olga Zernitskaya Porterfield
