I Love You Because

Hailed as “Terrific, refreshing fun,” by The New York Times, this romantic comedy tells the story of Austin Bennet (played in RTP’s production by Calvin Malone), a greeting card writer who walks in on his boyfriend with another man.

He is sent back out into the New York City dating scene—the bars, coffee shops, and streets of the East Village—with only his misguided brother, Jeff (Ian Page), to steer him. It’s there that he meets Marty (TeDarryl Perry), a flaky photographer with dating troubles of his own—and his actuarial best friend, Diana (Ally Dods), who is trying to calculate her future.
